BUSINESS NEWS - Interrogator testing capabilities extended to 2000Ah cells Feb 2005 World Energy Labs announced today that it has released new software for its Interrogator Handheld battery tester to enable it to test cells up to 2000 Ah in size. Kurt Salloux, CTO of World Energy Labs said; “We are very pleased to be making this step. The Interrogator testing platform is a very flexible and expandable system. With software updates, functionality is easily added to the Interrogator. The addition of these high-capacity cells to our testing capabilities by no means signifies the limit of the Interrogator’s testing ability, as we will continue to increase the size of the battery that can be tested in the future. New testing algorithms are also in development and being beta tested at various customer sites prior to official release. A software release that will include an algorithm for determining the degradation of the positive grid (grid corrosion) as well as line noise and cell strap connectivity (connection integrity) is nearing completion.” Currently the Interrogator boasts the ability to accurately test float voltage and internal cell resistance as well as being the only tester on the market that can analyse lead acid cells for sulfation and dryout. The Interrogator is an expandable testing platform that can easily be upgraded through new software modules to enable it to test other parameters as well as other battery types and even other electrochemical systems.
