The core hardware technology of World Energy Labs is the Interrogator platform. This is a versatile, portable impedance spectroscopy device that performs accurate broadband impedance analysis in the field, even under noisy electrical conditions. The Interrogator platform already has commercial applications as the worlds most advanced battery health analyzer as well as a versatile quality control tool for the production of fuel cells.
The second part of the technology that WEL specializes in is the development of software / firmware and algorithms that are capable of deciphering the complex impedance data and converting these into real world results: such as the loss of capacity of a battery due to sulfation or as a pass/fail result in the manufacture of fuel cell electrodes. This high tech, classification and pattern recognition approach to the analysis of complex impedance data and how to relate this to real world solutions has been developed by WEL and has been given the name of CEL-Scan™ . This proprietary approach has already been used to develop customized solutions in the battery space for blue chip companies for whom product screening is a business critical issue.
