One of the major limiting factors of impedance spectroscopy is that it delivers a huge amount of data that is extremely difficult to interpret. To combat this limitation, the Interrogator™ has been built with a powerful on-board dual core microprocessor that has both DSP (digital signal processing) as well as RISC capabilities to allow rapid, in-situ analysis of the test data. To exploit this computational power, WEL has developed an analysis technique named CEL-Scan™ (Chemical Electrical Layer Scanning) to immediately analyze the results captured by the Interrogator™. During the CEL-Scan™ process, the Interrogator™ captures specific complex impedance information about the ElectroChemical cell being tested. Then using powerful noise rejection techniques to remove line noise from the received signals (a common and limiting problem with existing signal analysis techniques), the response data are analyzed using on-board programmed algorithms, producing results in seconds instead of typically days or weeks in a laboratory. |
